Commitment to Sustainable Development

Engaged in the sustainable development model, responding to nowadays needs without risking future generations care, Perini Business Park offers the community a harmonious environment of nature and progress. The preservation of existing green areas, recomposing areas with new seedlings as well as complying with environmental legislation are part of our culture.

720,000 m² (7750015,5 SF) out of 2.8 million m² (30138949 SF) total area are preserved, where regional local wild plants and animals can guarantee their subsistence. This differential offered by Perini Business Park is essential for organizations in the pursuit of sustainability.

Through Environmental Management, the enterprise values responsibility applying practices and administrative methods in order to reduce at the most, environmental impacts of economic activities on natural resources aiming at being a reference for society. The company goes beyond the obligations required by law and continuously invests in environmental programs aiming at minimizing possible negative impacts and enhancing the positive ones, resulting from activities carried out by companies hosted by the park as well as by the business park as a whole.

That way, Perini Business Park effectively and broadly develops environmental programs regarding sustainability, strongly allying itself with the awareness and commitment of the companies installed in the park, allowing Perini Business Park to sustain excellent results in its Environmental Management.

Internal Week for Occupational Accidents Prevention and Environment

The Environmental Management area, together with the Property and Workplace Safety area, are responsible for organizing and holding the Internal Week for the Prevention of Accidents at Work and the Environment. In addition to these areas, several companies from different segments located in the park are part of the event’s Organizing Committee.

The activities, lectures and other actions carried out during the 5 days are open to all workers, service providers, students and users of Perini Business Park.

Check out the video about the 6th edition held in 2023 with the presence of more than 2,400 people.

Since 2013, Perini Business Park has sought assisting hosted companies regarding the correct segregation and disposal of solid waste generated in the park, it’s done through the Selective Collection Program, thus ensuring that each waste is properly disposed of through recycling and new applicable technologies.

The word “recycling” is part of the whole structure of Perini Business Park. Recycling is more than just finding the right destination for waste, it is thinking about the environment, the future of the planet and using technology to get resources not harming the environment.

The Selective Collection Program serves all companies located in the park and encourages the reuse of recyclable waste throughout the park. In addition to contributing to reducing the depletion of natural resources, the socio-economic role played by those who recycle is pretty important. New products, jobs and increased family income are created by those who reuse.

In 2012, the Effluent Treatment Station (ETE) was inaugurated in the park, further reinforcing the commitment to sustainable development of the enterprise as well as the region where it is located, aiming at the continuous improvement of services provided to its customers and compliance with legal requirements.

Currently, Perini Business Park treats 100% of the sanitary effluents of the system companies, reaching highly efficient results by means of physical-chemical and biological treatment, in addition to monitoring through ecotoxicity analysis. Thus, through the treatment of sanitary effluents, Perini Business Park also contributes to improving the basic sanitation index in Joinville and preserving natural springs.

Worried about contributing to issues regarding environmental licensing, Perini Business Park develops its activity with responsibility and environmental commitment. Also through Environmental Management, it aims at complying with current environmental laws and regulations, as well as providing permanent consultancy to system companies. Among the monitoring areas, we can mention the environmental monitoring of the implementation and operation of the enterprise, such as: monitoring of air quality, noise levels, water bodies, vegetation development in the Permanent Environmental Preservation Area (APP) and remaining vegetation.

Complementarily, environmental monitoring is carried out in system companies, in order to guarantee that all of them also comply with the applicable environmental requirements through periodic audits, external inspections, control of companies’ environmental licenses (follow-up), continued environmental consulting, implementation of environmental sensitivity and awareness projects, among other actions that effectively guarantee the enterprise’s environmental commitment and compliance.

Follow Perini Business Park Social Communication with the community. In the periodic newsletters, you are able to follow everything happening in the Environmental Management of the park.

NEA – Environmental Education Center
The Fabio Perini Environmental Education Center (NEA) is an action of the Perini Business Park Environmental Education Program aiming at disseminating knowledge about the environment, placing visitors directly in touch with nature and raising awareness about sustainable development. NEA also shares good Environmental Management practices applied in the enterprise and establishes valuable contacts with schools, neighboring communities, internal and external companies.

NEA features a complete infrastructure including an auditorium for lectures, training and environmental workshops, besides ecological trails, a native seedling nursery and an organic garden, offering awareness opportunities on local and regional environmental issues and exchange experiences on the environment.

Since 2012, the Environmental Education Center has received students from schools located in the region of Joinville and neighboring municipalities, offering the opportunity to take guided walks along the ecological trails providing further learning beyond the classroom, combining theory with practice and enabling a greater involvement with the environment in which they live. The same is offered for all the community, companies and universities, by prior appointment thru email.

As part of NEA programs, Perini Business Park’s Red Howler Conservation Program (PCBR) was inaugurated in 2014, which signed a technical-scientific cooperation agreement with the Regional University Foundation of Blumenau city (FURB). The program includes several goals, ranging from studying their health to knowing their habitat in order to promote the conservation of the Alouatta clamitans species (Red monkey), classified as vulnerable to extinction inhabiting green areas of the enterprise.
